KMC X10SL 10-Speed Bicycle Chain Review

I really like KMC chains and am always looking for fun ways to lighten my Surly Cross Check.  My X10 chain worked great, but I decided to switch it up with the X10SL.  Great looking chain, have a look:

Specs

Model: X10SL

Color: Silver

Size: ½”x11/128”

Hollow pins and plates

Material: steel

Length: 116 links

Made in Taiwan

Weight: 253 grams

Compatibility: Shimano, Campagnolo, and SRAM 10-speed groups

Installation

The installation went very easy, and I love that KMC uses the missing link connecting link.  The missing link is easy to use as long as you have a chain plier tool.  And the link makes it easy to remove and install the chain without having to replace any pins.

Performance

I’ve used the new chain for a few months, and it is working great with my 10-speed Campagnolo group.  My bike is shifting perfectly and there are no weird noises while riding.  I weighed the chain after cutting to size and it weighed 234 grams.  My old X10 chain which was also sized weighed in at 253 grams.

Rating

If you want to save a few grams this chain is good deal.  I’m rating this 5 out of 5 stars at it met all my expectations.  If anything goes bad, I will update my review.
