Here is a vintage Schwinn Speedster, a nice middleweight bike with a steel cantilever frame.

A super comfortable old cruiser bike. This one has the 2-speed kickback rear hub and steel wheels. Original saddle would have been red/white and the original fenders painted red/white. Here is the catalog image for 1961:

This bike still rides nice, which says a lot about the quality of build. Price was $59.95 back in 1961.

I had one of those bikes. One of my brothers handed it down to me.
How did you like it?
I did like it. It was better then the other bikes I had. I have six brothers so having a good hand me down bike was memorable.
And the famous “Schwinn cantilever frame”!
Oops. Sorry, you already said that. After not seeing the internet for days, I’m overdosing here. I just remember Captain Kangaroo saying that on TV and not knowing what it meant for many years.
