A couple years ago I decided I needed a good gravel bike and got a great deal on my 2008 Fuji Cross Comp. It’s been a real good buy so far and is great for long rides on the crushed gravel paths we have around here. Check it out:
It has an aluminum frame with bonded carbon and cro-mo steerer. Shifting and braking is done with 10 speed 105 STI shift levers. Front derailleur is 105 and rear is Ultegra. Crank is an FSA Gossamer and I have some shimano pedals. Wheels have Alex DC-19 double walled rims with 32 spokes and Fuji hubs. And it has Fuji on it 16 times! And that is with an aftermarket stem and saddle. The original saddle had Fuji on it twice, but is in rough shape. Eventually I want to bring it back to it’s former glory and find a Fuji stem so it’s back to 20 plus Fuji’s. Please comment if you have a bike that can beat all that branding.
Update: After this post I decided I needed a Fuji stem. Not sure if I’ll be able to handle riding it or not. Stem is a little longer and I have it angled down. Looks good, but will see if I can get comfortable. Here it is:

I would love to post images and info of your favorite rides. Send a picture and make/model/year info to bikerjima@gmail.com. I will likely resize the image a bit. Also be sure to let me know what name you want to use in the post. Waiting excitedly for your submissions.
