2010 Raleigh Talus 3.0 Mountain Bike

Last Updated on May 25, 2023 by FAB Jim The Cyclist

Here is another one of my sweet rides, my mountain bike.  I wasn’t sure how much I’d be mountain biking, so I went real frugal on this one and got a great deal.  It was a little over entry level in it’s day, and I like it has an Altus rear derailleur rather than a tourney.  Seems like you need to spend a lot now to get above tourney.  Have a look at this sweet bike in its natural environment:

Here are some of the specs:

Aluminum frame

Tektro V brakes

Shimano EF-50 EZ Fire shifters

Shimano FC-M151 crank

21 speeds

Altus Rear derailleur with C50 front derailleur

26″ Weinmann rims 36 spoke

I have updated it to a WTB Rocket saddle and MZYRH pedals.

Took it out on the trails a couple weeks ago and it performed great.  Hadn’t ridden trails for like over 20 years so kept it on the easy one.  I’ll test it out more on future rides as I had a blast and hope to get out again soon.  This bike is proof you don’t have to spend a lot to have fun cycling.

I would love to post images and info of your favorite rides. Send a picture and make/model/year info to bikerjima@gmail.com. I will likely resize the image a bit. Also be sure to let me know what name you want to use in the post. Waiting excitedly for your submissions.
