This is my younger daughter’s bike. Trek never seems to disappoint, and this has been a great bike. It was previously my nieces, so it has some miles on it between the two. So far, no issues. Only issue is that she’s almost too big for it. Check it out:

Color is black trek pearl. Other than being smaller, it is very similar to most adult mountain bikes. Aluminum frame with front shock, 21 speeds, threadless stem… Front and rear derailleurs are Shimano Tourney with twist shift. 24” alloy rims with alloy hubs. A real nice ride, way better than your average big box store kid’s bike. We had one of those before and it was always making weird noises and difficult to keep tuned up. So far, no real maintenance for this one other than pumping up the tires.

While it is pretty expensive new for a kid’s bike, it will last if you need it as a hand me down bike. Also, it will hold its value pretty well when it comes time to sell. And they are usually in pretty good shape if you want to pick one up used when you buy.
Why, I wonder, is there still a “girl” bike?
Some of it has to do with different geometry.
My mountain bike and I have traveled many miles together. An old friend that I can’t seem to part with. 😊
They are very versatile.
I like this one because it looks especially durable and rugged!
It is well made.
This is my kind of bicycle since I’m rough on things.
