Do you want to carry some more gear for longer rides? Well then, a backpack might be the right thing for you, I know I love mine. I have a small backpack by Sunhiker that I got off Amazon. Mine is the green, but its a bit more yellow in the bright lighting of the photos, have a look at this beauty:
Now this is a pretty small backpack, but it allows me to carry emergency tools, a spare tube, pump, snacks, my wallet, phone, keys, dental floss, toothbrush, hair gel… So, you aren’t going to carry enough gear to stay overnight with a change of clothes, but it comfortably holds more stuff than a seat bag for those long, glorious rides. Here are some of the specs:
Dimensions: about 15.8 x 9.4 x 5.9”
Made from tear resistant nylon which is also water-resistant.
Nice breathable, padded shoulder straps with a front buckle to lock the backpack in place. It also has what might be a waist strap, but it’s way too short for me. It stays secure with the chest buckle.
Mesh pockets on the side to hold more stuff, like water bottles.
Comes in lots of nice colors, I recommend the bright ones like green and yellow to keep you visible.
There is a reflective strap you could also attach a rear light to.
Nice quality zipper pulls with three different compartments for your stuff to keep it organized.
Weight: About 12.3oz
We give this a FAB rating of swell.
